Sharing experiences: women’s leadership and integration

On April 21, the Ukrainian Women’s Conference took place in Bern, attended by representatives of the Association Ukraine Schweiz Bern. The conference brought together active and motivated Ukrainian women with diverse stories of successful integration under the theme ‘Success and Development of Women’s Unity.’

This event aimed to unite Ukrainian women leaders in Switzerland to discuss issues of peace, security, social justice, education, culture, gender equality, and integration into Swiss society. The conference was held within the framework of the international initiative UNITED WOMEN and actively supported by organizer Olesia Tarasenko. Svitlana Manzer, the head of integration projects at USB and a psychotherapist, delivered a speech highlighting the psychological aspects of integration. She discussed what drives people who find themselves in a foreign country due to war in their homeland, what hinders this process, how to establish gradual integration, what to focus on, and how to overcome negative perceptions in the context of socialization in Switzerland.
