Did Ukrainian women really have more rights two hundred years ago than Swiss women? In a new column, Svitlana Prokopchuk compares the historical path of women in the two countries — from a chest of drawers with their own belongings and the first educational opportunities to modern challenges with wage inequality, maternity leave, and the role of the state in protecting mothers.
