Discussing the employment of Ukrainians with S status in the canton of Bern

Representatives of the ‘Ukraine Switzerland Bern’ Association participated in the Forum for Ukrainians on integration, adaptation, career opportunities, and education in Switzerland, held recently in Bern. Svitlana Manzer delivered a speech on the work and directions of integration projects conducted by the Association.

Together with Olga Günther and Mila Kastaljan, she also held a workshop titled ‘Practical Aspects of Employment and Recovery from Social Benefits.’ The attendees were interested in various issues related to the legal intricacies of employment, step-by-step pathways to workplace integration and its initiation, as well as cooperation with social services. Experts, drawing from their accumulated experience, answered questions and announced a new webinar on ‘Self-Employment in Switzerland,’ to be conducted soon as part of the employment project.

The ‘Ukraine Switzerland Bern’ Association not only co-organized the event but also participated in panel discussions. One panel, with experts from the Federal Department of Justice and Police, the Office for Integration and Social Services (RAV) in Canton Bern, and the Career Counseling and Information Center BIZ, provided insights into new trends in the labor market, requirements for improving skills for successful integration, and more. Another panel, which discussed successful cases and social initiatives, was moderated by the Association’s media coordinator Svitlana Prokopchuk. Organizers noted the high interest of Ukrainian refugees in employment opportunities.
