Promoting Ukrainian products: Market Day in Spiez!

The annual market in Spiez took place recently with the participation of the ‘Ukraine Switzerland Bern’ Association.

Traditionally held immediately after the wine festival, it occupies the entire city center and attracts not only those looking to shop but also those eager to socialize. The Ukrainian community participated in this event for the second time. Last year, they primarily offered traditional Ukrainian dishes to market visitors. This year, in addition to treats, they impressed attendees with high-quality handmade items that were not only beautiful to admire but also available for purchase. Painted T-shirts and hoodies with national symbols, macramé, tatting, jewelry, and 3D paper models of toys and complex architectural buildings caught the eyes of visitors, who took photos and bought them.

The event also involved young Ukrainians. Children decorated the nearby road to draw attention to the Ukrainian theme at the market. They also presented crafts they had made in advance.
